CEO Jay Allen OAM Speaks on ABC Radio Sydney

Many high profile commentators are suggesting that Australians can identify their own suspicious lesions instead of a full body skin check by an expert. This week, our CEO Jay Allen OAM appeared on ABC Radio Sydney to reaffirm our core mission: that all Australians should have access to free skin checks by an expert.

While there are differing views in the media, and some experts suggest individuals can self-monitor their skin and seek medical advice only if something appears abnormal, we believe this approach falls short.

Skin cancer remains one of the most common cancers in Australia and continues to have a devastating impact on individuals, families, and communities.

The Australian Skin Cancer Foundation is committed to driving change and advocating for free, accessible skin checks for all Australians, because early detection can, and does, save lives.
