ASCF and Bendigo Community Banks Bring Skin Checks to NSW Communities

Over eight days, the Australian Skin Cancer Foundation, Skin Check Truck made its way up the NSW coast and inland, stopping at Bendigo Community Bank branches in Pambula, Bega, Batemans Bay, Milton, Sanctuary Point, Braidwood, Bungendore, and Crookwell to provide free skin checks to local communities.

The response was overwhelming! All appointments for each location were booked out within a day, and our team worked hard to fit in as many walk-in appointments as possible. The overwhelming demand highlights just how difficult it can be for many Australians to access timely skin checks, and how essential it is to bring these services directly to regional and rural communities.

A huge thank you goes to the teams at each Bendigo Community Bank branch, who without your support this trip would not have been possible, local Rotary clubs for cooking a mean sausage sizzle and supporting us as always, radio stations that helped spread the word, and the local MPs who stopped by to show their support for our mission. Your efforts helped raise awareness about the importance of skin checks and sun-safe habits, making this tour a huge success for community health.

Stay tuned as we continue to travel across Australia, bringing life-saving checks to regional and rural areas.
