VALE PROFESSOR RICHARD SCOLYER AO

On behalf of the Australian Skin Cancer Foundation Board, our team, and volunteers, we pay tribute to Professor Richard Scolyer AO — a giant in Australian and global medicine whose contributions to melanoma research, patient care and cancer outcomes will endure for generations.

Richard was far more than a world-renowned melanoma and skin cancer researcher. He was a compassionate, humble and generous man who consistently placed others before himself. And he was a mate.

Just a few months ago, he signed one of our mobile skin check trucks — a gesture we will always cherish. As that truck continues travelling across Australia promoting early detection and helping save lives, Richard’s legacy will travel with it.

We thank him for his leadership, friendship and unwavering commitment to improving outcomes for melanoma and skin cancer patients and their families.

His legacy will continue to save lives for generations to come.

Rest in peace, Richard.
